PROJECTS

The Community Council of Mandria, in the context of its efforts for improvement of the lifestyle of the community's inhabitants, has already completed several infrastructure and beautification projects. Some of those are:

1. Creation of a crew for the collection of garbage.
2. Construction of a community park at the village's entrance, also including a playpen.
3. Changing of the entire water supply system, creation of a new water-tower, and the opening of a new drilling that covers the watering needs of the entire community.
4. Construction of new roads -within and outside the village -as well as asphalt paving of all the roads.
5. Creation of paved areas in various spots of the village.
6. Naming and placing of numbers in all the village's streets.
7. Creation of the multi-purpose Cultural Centre that includes a large hall for multiple purposes, Infirmaries with a doctor's visit once a week, and a large outdoors area where the community's various events/exhibitions take place.
8. Restoration of the two old septic tanks, the one located across the church of St Mamas and the other across the church of St. George.
9. Construction of new community buildings that will house the offices of the Council.

The Community Council has already proceeded with the scheduling of new projects that will convert the village into a small, modern, and humane community.

The scheduled projects are:

1. Creation of a Nature Trail through the Cha-Potami riverbed, beginning in the community's south side and ending in the north side.
2. An overhead bridge will be created close to the Cultural Centre, joining the community's two neighbourhoods.
3. A new Park at the village's entrance.
4. Construction of a monument in memory of the soldier Athanasios Athanasiou who was killed by Turkish soldiers during his service in the army.
5. Restoration of the old, traditional oven that stands next to the Community Council's offices.
6. A special area for the needs of the "place of traditional tastes" will be created in an area next to the Community Council's office.
